Fatal Shooting Victim ID'd In Springfield; Police Searching For Killer

Police released the name of the 29-year-old man gunned down Sunday, Aug. 6, in Springfield's South end. 

Springfield police say Emmanuel Hernandez-Garcia was shot and killed near the intersection of Hancock and Union streets.

Emmanuel Hernandez-Garcia was shot at 7:45 p.m. on Hancock Street near the intersection of Union Street, Springfield police said. 

Paramedics rushed him to Baystate Medical Center, where he later died of his wounds. 

Police urge anyone with information on the shooter or who may have witnessed anything related to the killing to contact detectives at 413-787-6355.
